VCA Canada Newton Animal Hospital is looking for a full time Veterinary Assistant. Located on King George Blvd in Surrey BC, Newton Animal Hospital is a dynamic, progressive, team focused clinic, with a goal to deliver high quality medicine, preventative care and surgery in a caring and personalized manner. Your role will be: o Assisting Veterinarians and Technicians with various tasks and treatment of pet patients o Providing compassionate care duties including feeding and walking patients o Technical skills should include knowledge of patient care and restraint, client care, hospital asepsis, and surgical assisting o General hospital maintenance including cleaning kennels o Enhance the client’s experience by coordinating between the clients and members of the medical team


What’s required? o Exceptional client service skills that build trust and loyalty with clients o Strong communication skills and ability to work with a dynamic and diverse team o Compassion and nurturing attitude when providing care to clients and patients o Ability to remain calm and efficient in stressful situations o Positive outlook and enthusiasm for learning o Initiative in carrying out assignments independently o Previous veterinary education or certificate
